Residential Rates

SCP offers competitive rates for cleaner power.

We buy power from cleaner sources for our customers and fill PG&E’s wires. PG&E continues to do all the billing for everything. We simply replace their power generation charges with ours.

We partner with PG&E to give you a joint rate comparison as well as our power content.

Full details on our rates are available below.

Discounted Rates

CARE

Customers enrolled in SCP will continue to receive their CARE discount, and there is no need to reapply. New CARE enrollments or renewals must still be done through PG&E’s customer service center or website.

The CARE program provides a monthly discount on energy bills for income-qualified households and housing facilities. Qualifications are based on the number of persons living in your home and your total annual household income.

If you think you may be eligible to receive a CARE discount or have questions, please call PG&E at 1-866-743-2273 or visit PG&E’s website.

Medical Baseline Allowance

Customers enrolled in SCP will continue to receive their Medical Baseline Allowance, and there is no need to reapply. New enrollments must still be done through PG&E’s customer service center or website.

Medical Baseline Allowances are generally available to customers who personally are, or who live with someone who is dependent on life-support equipment, or have certain other serious medical conditions that create an added need for electricity. This program allows customers to receive discounted rates for electricity by increasing their allocation of “baseline usage,” electricity that is available at lower rates.

If you think you may be eligible to receive a Medical Baseline Allowance or have questions, call PG&E at 1 (866) 743-2273 or visit PG&E’s website.

PG&E Fees

For Customers Starting SCP Service Before July 1, 2015

The following fees apply to customers who start receiving service with SCP before July 1, 2015. Customers who start SCP service after July 1, 2015 may have a different set of PG&E fees.

PG&E fees for power delivery will continue for all SCP customers. In addition, two fees will be applied.

The Power Charge Indifference Adjustment (PCIA) is intended to ensure that customers who switch to SCP pay for certain costs related to energy commitments made by PG&E prior to their switch. Customers who are enrolled in PG&E’s Medical Baseline Allowance program are not subject to the PCIA fee.

The Franchise Fee is collected by PG&E to pay for the right to use public streets to run gas and electric service.
