PG&E has issued a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event to reduce the risk of wildfire. De-energization is scheduled to begin on October 14th, 2020, between 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, with estimated restoration to occur on Friday, October 16th, 2020 by 10:00 p.m.. **Actual shutoff and restoration times may change depending on weather and equipment conditions.
Approximately 1,800 customers along the eastern edge of Sonoma County will be impacted. Mendocino County is not in scope for this event. To find out whether your home or business is served by an electric line that may be turned off for safety, visit www.pge.com/pspsupdates to enter your address.
We encourage all customers to:
1) Learn whether their home or business is in or near an elevated (Tier 2) or extreme (Tier 3) risk for wildfire on the California Public Utilities Commission’s High Fire-Threat District map: https://ia.cpuc.ca.gov/firemap/
2) Update their contact information at www.pge.com/mywildfirealerts or by calling 1-866-743-6589 during normal business hours. PG&E will use this information to alert customers before turning off electric service for safety, when and where possible.
3) Prepare for and practice an emergency plan to keep themselves, their families, and/or employees’ emergency-ready and safe during an outage. Keep in mind family members who are elderly, younger children, and pets. Additionally, make sure that phones, devices, flashlights, radios, and electric vehicles are charged.
The California ISO has issued a Flex Alert for October 15, 2020.
