Principles for New Geothermal Development

Sonoma Clean Power is holding a meeting for stakeholders of its Geothermal Opportunity Zone (GeoZone) initiative.  SCP will be providing an update on its plans to expand opportunities to responsibly expand local geothermal capacity and ask participants to help create principles to guide project development.

Sonoma Clean Power will provide a presentation with background on the Geothermal Opportunity Zone (GeoZone) initiative with a focus on the state’s critical need for geothermal power and how Sonoma Clean Power is working to expand opportunities to responsibly develop new geothermal capacity locally.

3. Project Updates

Sonoma Clean Power will share important project updates on GeoZone activities and hopes to expand community engagement beyond the twice monthly public updates provided in its Community Advisory Committee and Board of Directors meetings.

4. Developing Principles for Local Geothermal Development

Sonoma Clean Power will facilitate a discussion to collect input on principles that should guide deployment of geothermal resources and technologies in the GeoZone.

5. Next Steps

Details will be shared on how Sonoma Clean Power and GeoZone partners will address community feedback and continue stakeholder engagement.
