Energy Market Analyst
Carlos Gomes conducts market and portfolio modeling and analysis of SCP’s power supply position to effectively monitor and manage exposure to adverse market changes. His responsibilities include power supply planning, load forecasting, risk management, market monitoring, and settlements. In addition, he is responsible for assisting in procurement activities for renewable and conventional energy, resource adequacy and related products and services.
Mr. Gomes has over 7 years’ experience in the wholesale North American energy industry, as well as 2 years’ experience in the financial markets. Most recently, Mr. Gomes worked for Powerex Corp. where he primarily performed management and financial reporting and regulatory and settlement functions.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Rio de Janeiro State University, Brazil and a Professional Certificate in Finance from the University of California at San Diego.
