Energy Resiliency Audit Program

Reliable power for your business when you need it the most.

The growing need for backup power

As Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events and natural disasters such as wildfires become regular occurrences, having a reliable source of backup power has become a necessity for nearly every business. Navigating the options and choosing the right solution can be complex, which is why SCP has developed the Energy Resiliency Audit Program (ERAP).

Through ERAP, commercial customers can receive a complimentary backup energy audit, which will help answer difficult questions including how much storage would be needed to power critical electric loads during a shutoff, whether battery storage is financially feasible, and how storage could be integrated into existing operations to benefit your business year-round.

Achieving energy independence

Commercial battery backup can help businesses stay up and running during a power outage. Battery-stored energy is cleaner, safer, and quieter to use than gas-powered generators. Plus, it can help lower electric costs, too.

SCP has partnered with the Center for Sustainable Energy to connect local businesses with energy experts and engineers who will evaluate your operations and advise about the best path forward. An ERAP audit will provide the information needed to:

  • Implement a solution to improve resiliency during PSPS events
  • Develop a cost-saving strategy which may lower electricity bills
  • Estimate the cost of installing commercial battery storage

Qualifying for an audit

Small and medium commercial customers, essential businesses, and grocery stores in areas which have been impacted by PSPS events are all eligible to participate in the program. ERAP audits are provided at no cost to qualified SCP customers.

  • An initial analysis and estimation of implementation costs
  • If energy storage is deemed a viable option, a Stage Two analysis will be conducted.

Stage Two

  • A site visit evaluation and verification
  • An in-depth review of existing electrical infrastructure and recommended infrastructure upgrades
  • A final report for implementation
