In October of 2019, over 1,000 California schools were forced to close their campuses due to wildfire related power shutoff events. In anticipation of continued PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events, SCP and TerraVerde Energy are teaming up to provide free financial and technical feasibility assessments for deploying battery energy storage systems at school facilities in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties*!
STEP 1: Application (due by October 16, 2020)
Sonoma & Mendocino County School Districts are encouraged to submit any of their school locations that have existing solar for consideration
STEP 2: Data Collection
TerraVerde Energy will coordinate with Districts to collect electricity usage & billing data, as well as information about the existing solar at each location*
STEP 3: Application & Data Review
Upon review of the applications and data received, up to 50 school locations will be selected for further analysis*
STEP 4: Technical & Financial Project Assessments
Selected schools will be provided with a project analysis including equipment specifications, costs, available incentives, and financial & backup power benefits
* School Districts must be a Sonoma Clean Power customer to qualify. School facilities must have existing solar installed to qualify. Districts must provide access to their electricity usage and solar information by October 30, 2020 to be considered.
