A few tips to help reduce your energy use this season.
Use the window trick
Spring is prime for cool mornings and evenings. Open windows early and late, then close them (and your blinds) during the day to trap cool air inside.
Flip your ceiling fan direction
Set fans to spin counterclockwise in warmer months. This pushes cool air down and can make a room feel several degrees cooler.
Give your thermostat a spring reset
As weather shifts, your old winter settings may be working against you. Aim for higher temps during the day when you're out, and adjust schedules to match longer daylight hours.
Unplug the energy drainers
While tidying up, unplug devices and chargers that aren’t in use. Many electronics still draw power even when turned off! Cutting this “phantom load” can help lower your electricity bill over time.
