New Construction

Building Initiative for Low-Emissions Development (BUILD)

Description: The BUILD Program is designed to provide technical assistance and incentives for new all-electric, low-income residential buildings that reduce GHG emissions compared to mixed-fuel construction.

Eligibility: New single-family and multi-family residential buildings in the territories covered by SoCalGas, San Diego Gas and Electric Company, Southwest Gas, and Southern California Edison. Other program requirements apply. Learn more

California Electric Homes Program

Description: This statewide new construction program will provide incentives for all-electric homes. The program is currently in the design stage and is expected to launch in 2023.

California Energy-Smart Homes Program

Description: Provides incentives for all-electric and electric-ready new construction of single-family homes, duplexes, and low-rise multifamily buildings.

Eligibility: New construction in the territories covered by SoCalGas, San Diego Gas and Electric Company, and Southern California Edison. Other program requirements apply.

California Multi-family New Homes Program

Description: Offers incentives and technical assistance to multifamily developers, energy consultants, home energy raters and design teams to help them exceed California Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24) building code.

Eligibility: New multifamily projects in PG&E service territory, including Sonoma Clean Power customers. Available in Mendocino County. Cannot be layered with the BayREN multifamily program. Learn more

Existing Buildings

Bay Area Multifamily Building Enhancements (BAMBE)

Description: Offers $750 per unit for upgrades saving 15% of total energy usage as well as bonus incentives for key electrification measures, such as heat pumps and induction cooking. Zero percent financing is also available. Through a partnership with SCP, properties in Sonoma County are eligible for incentives on electrical panel upgrades.

Eligibility: Existing multifamily buildings in BayREN territory, including Sonoma County. Not available to Mendocino County properties. Must be property owner to participate. Other program requirements apply. Learn more

BayREN Home+

Description: Offers electrification incentives for heat pump water heaters ($1,000) and HVAC ($1,000), induction cooking (up to $750), insulation ($1,000), air sealing ($150), and more. Additionally, Home+ provides free consultations through their on-staff energy advisors.

Eligibility: Existing single-family homes in BayREN territory, including Sonoma County. Not available to Mendocino County properties. Must be property owner to participate. Other program requirements apply. Learn more

Energy Savings Assistance Program

Description: A no-cost program offered by PG&E, which provides lower-income residents with free home assessments and installation of energy-saving measures, such as insulation, water heater replacement, and LED lights.

Eligibility: Income-qualified homeowners in PG&E service territory, including Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. Other program requirements apply. Learn more

Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP)

Description: SGIP is a program offered by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to incentivize solar and battery installations throughout the state. Incentives are also available for large-scale storage and renewable energy generation. Funds are being prioritized for residents in high fire-threat areas, communities affected by Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS), and vulnerable communities.

Eligibility: Available statewide and accessible through PG&E for Sonoma Clean Power customers. Other program requirements apply. Learn more

TECH Clean California

Description: A statewide program designed to accelerate adoption of electrification through massive incentives for heat pump water heaters, heat pump HVAC, and more.

BayREN Small and Medium Business

Description: Offers free energy assessments, upgrades at no up-front cost, and 24-hour equipment monitoring to track energy savings and identify potential issues.

PG&E Sector-specific Programs

Description: PG&E offers a range of rebates aimed at specific industries, including K-12 schools, hospitals, grocery, retail, and food service.

Public Energy Efficiency Program (GK12)

Description: A program to help public agencies, including local governments, federal agencies and K-12 schools, evaluate and improve their energy efficiency.
Offers deemed, custom, and normalized metered energy consumption (NMEC) incentives.

Agriculture Energy Savings Action Plan (AESAP)

Description: Offers cash incentives and zero-interest loans for energy-saving projects involving the installation of new, high-efficiency equipment or systems. For farming, cultivation, winery, brewery or distillery facilities.
