Since SCP’s launch in 2014, our EverGreen service has gained a few loyal fans. EverGreen delivers 100% clean power that’s produced locally, allowing customers to reduce their carbon footprint with no extra effort required.
Your support of, and investment in, EverGreen has helped create healthy communities by reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Mendocino and Sonoma counties, and built over 2 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy right here in our service territory.
For those of you who are less familiar with EverGreen, it taps solar by day and geothermal energy by night. That’s 24/7 renewable delivery - a first for California customers!
For EverGreen’s small premium of 2.5 cents per kilowatt hour (KWh), which is about $13 more per month for the average residential customer, you can make a big impact. By enrolling in EverGreen, you are supporting the creation of local jobs and local clean energy facilities, without having to change your current lifestyle.
Half of EverGreen’s power mix comes from geothermal energy produced at the local Geysers. The other 50% comes from two recently completed solar projects in Petaluma. The sites became fully operational in April of this year, and together, have a 2 MW capacity which is enough to provide 600 homes with electricity.
