EV Incentives for Local Nonprofits

Published on 03/31/2023

Sonoma Clean Power recently increased our electric vehicle incentive for nonprofits.

Nonprofits in Mendocino and Sonoma Counties can make the switch to electric vehicles and vans with a reimbursement of up to $22,500.

The rebate can assist with the purchase or lease of a new or used EV or plug-in hybrid with a battery range of at least 25 miles. Nonprofits can receive up to $15,000 for a passenger vehicle, and up to $22,500 for a vehicle with a payload over 1,500 pounds.

We found that a lot of nonprofits in our area, especially those that provide mobile services or deliveries directly to clients, were interested in medium-duty electric vehicles, like vans and pickup trucks. So, we decided to increase our incentive amount to help more organizations make the transition to electric.

Since launching the program in 2018, 17 local nonprofits have obtained an electric vehicle with the help of Sonoma Clean Power’s rebate! The vehicles must be purchased from a dealership by the registered nonprofit and are intended to be shared among the members of the organization.

We encourage interested nonprofits to fill out the contact form on our website for more information.
