Read the Press ReleaseFollowing a successful pilot, we are deepening our partnership with the Sonoma County Career Technical Education (CTE) Foundation by launching the new STEM Kit Lending Library at our Customer Center. This free initiative equips teachers with high-quality, ready-to-use STEM tools, helping them deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences and reach even more students across Sonoma and Mendocino counties.
Middle and high school students no longer have to just read about clean energy. Now, they can build and test it themselves. The library provides comprehensive kits for designing low-voltage circuits and assembling electric skateboards and scooters, tearing down barriers to STEM education. Through hands-on projects, students develop real-world skills that spark curiosity and can inspire future careers in energy, engineering, technology, and skilled trades.
"Reading about electric technology is one thing, but making it work with your own hands is transformative," said Sean Dalton, Events Manager at Sonoma Clean Power. "Giving students the freedom to experiment, learn from mistakes, and solve real problems is what makes this kind of learning unforgettable."
With enthusiastic support from local educators, the program is already on pace to be fully booked for the 2026–27 school year, well ahead of its official January launch.
