Do you ever wonder what happens to your solar system when the sun goes down? Without sunlight, solar systems can’t generate power. That means that, typically, you need to use electricity from the electric grid at night. If you add a battery storage system to your solar panels it stores energy produced during the day that can be used when it’s dark. This gives you more energy security and increased self-reliance.

You can receive incentives to optimize your Enphase battery storage system. Here’s how it works.
Earn upfront and ongoing incentives by allowing SCP to manage your Enphase battery system. It’s simple. SCP will signal your battery to charge up during the day. The stored energy will then be used during the evening hours of 4-9pm. This is when there is less solar energy available and electricity rates are typically higher. You can choose how much of your battery capacity you want to keep and manage for yourself.
Enrollment Incentive: Earn $140 for every kilowatt-hour (kWh) you enroll.
Ongoing Rewards: Earn $4 monthly for every enrolled kWh during the 5-year period.
A customer with two IQ Battery 5Ps has 10 kWh total energy capacity. If they enroll 80% of the battery (8 kWh) and keep 20% (2 kWh) for backup reserve they will receive an enrollment incentive of $1,120 plus an additional $384 per year ($32 per month) in ongoing rewards for five years. In total over 5 years, they will earn $1,120 for enrolling and $1,920 for participating each month. Click here to learn more about how the incentive is calculated.
Maintain control over your backup power. Your battery won't discharge below the Enphase Backup Reserve setting you select, ensuring your home stays powered up even during critical times. SCP recommends keeping at least 20% of battery energy capacity as backup reserve and 35% if your home experiences frequent unplanned power outages. SCP will not discharge your battery if a Public Safety Power Shutoff is issued or the National Weather Service has issued a storm warning.
